RICHMOND, Ky. -- Allan Holland accounted for two touchdowns and C.J. Walker rushed for two more on the ground to help Eastern Kentucky defeat Jacksonville State on Saturday night.
Holland completed 19 of 27 passes for 242 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and also rushed for 19 yards and a score on nine carries for the Colonels (4-3, 3-1 Ohio Valley Conference). Walker rushed for 52 yards on nine carries.
Ryan Perrilloux completed 21 of 41 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown, but also threw five interceptions for the Gamecocks (4-2, 2-1). The Jacksonville State quarterback also ran for 39 yards and two scores on 19 rushes.
Perrilloux opened the scoring for the Gamecocks with a 59-yard pass to Maurice Dupree to start the first, which was matched by Aaron Bradley's 4-yard rush that tied the game for the Colonels at the end of the quarter.
Walker's 1-yard rushing touchdown and Holland's 11-yard passing score to Stephen Sizemore gave Eastern Kentucky a 24-14 lead at halftime.
In the third, Walker put the Colonels ahead 31-14 lead with his 19-yard touchdown run with 10:10 remaining before Perrilloux's 9-yard rushing score cut the Jacksonville State defecit to 10 points at the end of the quarter.
Brandon George's 8-yard run cut the Colonels' lead to 31-28, but Holland ran for a 1-yard score with 7:13 to play to make it a 10 point lead once again.
Perrilloux's late 4-yard run with 4:12 left wouldn't be enough in the end.
