BATON ROUGE, La. -- Bryant Lee rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns and threw 305 yards and two more scores to lead Southern to a 45-14 victory over Texas Southern on Saturday night.
Lee completed 18 of 34 passes with touchdowns of 7 and 24 yards, and rushed 21 times with scoring runs of 4, 3 and 5 yards. He was sacked once and didn't throw an interception.
Texas Southern quarterback Bobby Reid, who transferred from Oklahoma State, completed 29 of 50 passes for 311 yards with a touchdown and was sacked four times.
The Jaguars (4-2, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 24-0 before Texas Southern (3-4, 0-2) scored twice to cut the lead to 24-14 with 8:27 left in the third quarter.
Lee then hit Juamorr Stewart on a 24-yard touchdown pass and added a 5-yard scoring run to stretch the lead to 38-14 with 11 minutes remaining.
Kendrick Smith rushed for 69 yards on 13 carries for Southern. Stewart finished with five catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Lucas Caparelli caught 10 passes for 63 yards for Texas Southern.
