MOSCOW, Idaho -- Princeton McCarty rushed for 160 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown, as Idaho beat New Mexico State 20-14 on Saturday.

New Mexico State came into the game averaging 415 yards of total offense, but the Vandals held the Aggies to 330 yards, including just 35 yards on the ground.

Defensive end Josh Shaw led the defense for Idaho (2-7, 1-4 Western Athletic Conference) with 10 tackles, including two sacks, while defensive back Virdell Larkins had eight tackles.

McCarty's touchdown came with 9:40 left in the first quarter for the game's first points.

New Mexico State (3-4, 1-2) answered with 14 straight points in the second quarter when quarterback Chase Holbrook hit Chris Williams twice for touchdowns, of 18 and 13 yards.

Holbrook went 37-of-47 for 324 yards, with two interceptions.

Williams led the Aggie receivers with 13 catches for 112 yards.

Daniel Hardy tied the score at the end of the half with an acrobatic, one-handed grab of a 3-yard pass from Nathan Enderle.

Idaho kicker Tino Amancio then hit two field goals of 52 and 51 yards in the second half. The 52-yarder was the longest of his career and eighth longest in Vandal history.

The Aggies advanced to the Idaho 45 with 19 seconds left, but a pass was tipped by Justin Allen and their final two plays got them only to the Idaho 42.

Enderle finished 7-of-18 for 59 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown.
