OXFORD, Ohio -- Eugene Jarvis and Julian Edelman combined for five touchdowns and 263 yards rushing to lead Kent State to a 54-21 rout of Miami of Ohio Saturday.

Edelman had 158 yards rushing and one touchdown, while Jarvis had 105 yards and four touchdowns, to lead a rushing attack that netted 305 yards. Edelman was also 10-of-17 passing for 107 yards and one touchdown through the air to complement his rushing attack.

The Flashes (2-6, 1-3) found themselves down 7-3 at the end of the first quarter, but exploded for 28 points in the second quarter, all courtesy of Jarvis.

The RedHawks (2-6, 1-3) were led by J.R. Taylor, who had 113 yards rushing, and by Clay Belton, who was 18-of-31 for 171 yards and a touchdown. Belton also threw two interceptions.

Miami's offense gained 318 total yards, but was hurt by four fumbles that were all recovered by Kent State.
