KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Tim Hiller passed for 225 yards and three touchdowns Saturday, leading Western Michigan past Toledo, 27-17.
The win gives the Broncos (9-2, 6-1 Mid-American) nine victories for the first time since 2000 and the third time in school history.
Western Michigan took the lead for good on a 1-yard pass from Hiller to linebacker Austin Pritchard on the final play of the first half. That score gave the Broncos a 10-7 lead at the break and began a 20-minute stretch during which Western Michigan outscored Toledo 24-3.
Hiller completed 22 of 36 passes but threw his first interception since Oct. 11 at Buffalo, a span of 189 attempts without a pick. Western Michigan's Jamarko Simmons finished with eight catches for 96 yards.
