TROY, Ala. -- DuJuan Harris ran for a career-high 234 yards and threw a touchdown pass as Troy defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 48-3 on Saturday night.

The yardage mark is the second most in Troy (7-4, 5-1 Sun Belt Conference) history. Eddie Brundidge ran for 244 yards against Valdosta State in 1984.

The Trojans can win the conference outright with a Dec. 6 victory over Arkansas State. The Trojans and Red Wolves are tied with the Ragin' Cajuns (5-6, 4-2) with two losses in Sun Belt play. Arkansas State plays North Texas, which is 1-10, next week. The Ragin' Cajuns host Middle Tennessee on Dec. 3.

Harris got the scoring started with a 9-yard touchdown run, and Troy went up 14-0 in the second quarter when Cameron Sheffield blocked a 43-yard field goal attempt and Jorrick Calvin returned it 65 yards.

Drew Edmiston's 29-yard field goal gave the Ragin' Cajuns its first score, but Sam Glusman hit a 42-yard field goal to give the Trojans a 17-3 halftime lead.

Harris took a handoff in the third quarter and threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Mykeal Terry, and Kennard Burton added a 20-yard touchdown run later in the quarter.

Glusman's 40-yard field goal gave Troy a 34-3 lead with 9:43 left in the fourth, and Harris scored on a 35-yard run after Terence Moore's interception.

Maurice Greer scored on a 1-yard run to give Troy a 48-3 lead.

The Ragin' Cajuns were led by Michael Desormeaux, who ran 15 times for 136 yards. Tyrell Fenroy, the Sun Belt's all-time leading rusher, was held to 23 yards on 10 carries.
