LOGAN, Utah -- Diondre Borel threw for 118 yards and ran for a touchdown as Utah State ran past New Mexico State 47-2 Saturday afternoon.

Four other players also ran for touchdowns for Utah State (3-9, 3-5 Western Athletic Conference). The Aggies had 241 rushing yards. New Mexico State, struggling on offense, finished with minus seven yards on the ground.

The game was the last for Utah State head coach Brent Guy, who was fired earlier this month.

Chase Holbrook threw for 163 yards on 25-of-37 passing for NMSU (3-9, 1-7 WAC). Holbrook came into the game averaging 290 yards, including 486 yards the week before.

New Mexico State's lone score came when Oren Long tackled USU running back Curtis Marsh in the end zone for a safety early in the fourth quarter.

Utah State sacked Holbrook six times, intercepted him once and recovered one NMSU fumble. The Aggies had 22 first downs to New Mexico State's 12.

In addition to Borel's 6-yard TD, Utah State scored on runs by Marsh, Robert Turbin, Marquis Butler and Ronald Scott. Second-string quarterback Sean Seltzer also tossed a 10-yard pass to Xavier Bowman for a touchdown with two seconds remaining.

Twice in the first quarter, New Mexico State went for a first down rather than punt on fourth down. Holbrook was sacked for a loss the first time and threw an interception the second time.

Scott ran 64 yards for his second-quarter touchdown -- Utah State's longest run of the year -- to give the Aggies a 28-0 lead with 2:32 to play in the first half.

Peter Ulinski kicked a 56-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter, the fourth-longest field goal in the NCAA this season, to give USU a 41-2 lead.
