VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Evan Jones passed for 323 yards and two touchdowns to pace Carthage past Valparaiso 34-24 Saturday.

Jones' scoring tosses went 6 yards to Jeff Koeneman and 8 yards to Jake Smith.

John Seigler carried 17 times for 76 yards and touchdowns of 2 and 6 yards, and Alex Annes intercepted Valparaiso quarterback Bobby Wysocki and returned the pass for a 16-yard touchdown for Carthage (3-0).

Wysocki was 18 of 35 for 252 yards and a 63-yard touchdown pass to David Coneys. Ross Wiemer rushed 16 times for 112 yards and touchdowns of 12 and 36 yards for the Crusaders (1-2). Chris Smith added a field goal.

Valparaiso outgained Carthage 440 yards to 389 and held a 188-66 yard rushing edge, but the interception returns were fatal.
