MIAMI -- Dustin Rivest kicked a 24-yard field goal in overtime to lift Florida International to a 20-17 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.

The Panthers (2-6, 2/3 Sun Belt Conference) blocked a 29-yard field goal attempt by Louisiana-Lafayette's Tourek Williams in overtime to beat the Ragin' Cajuns (4-4, 2-2) for the first time in six games.

Paul McCall threw for 250 yards and an interception for FIU, but he helped send the game into overtime with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Greg Ellingson with 10 seconds left in the game.

Chris Masson had 254 yards passing, one touchdown and an interception for Louisiana-Lafayette. Louis Lee caught three passes for 62 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown pass from Masson to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 14-7 lead with 1:07 before halftime.

Yobes Walker rushed for 40 yards on 18 carries for the Ragin' Cajuns.
