Greg Salas had a school record 16 catches for 196 yards and a touchdown.
Hawaii (4-6, 2-5 Western Athletic Conference) won its second straight game and kept its bowl hopes alive. But the Warriors will need to defeat their next three opponents -- San Jose State, Navy and Wisconsin -- to earn a berth.
New Mexico State (3-7, 1-4) racked up its fourth straight loss.
Davon House scored a touchdown for the Aggies in the third quarter after intercepting a pass from Moniz. But New Mexico State failed to convert the point after touchdown when Trevor Wallis fumbled the snap.
