NEW YORK -- Austin Knowlin scored two touchdowns and Columbia returned an interception 85 yards for another score in a 28-14 win over Brown on Saturday.
Knowlin put the Lions ahead 14-7 with 1:11 to go in the first half, scoring just the second rushing touchdown of his four-year career on a 5-yard run. He added a 37-yard scoring reception in the fourth quarter.
Adam Mehrer intercepted Kyle Newhall at the Lions 15, returned it to midfield and lateralled to Andy Shalback, who ran the final 49 yards on the final play of the first half.
Columbia (4-6, 3-4 Ivy) finished with two straight victories while Brown (6-4, 4-3) finished third in the league.
Freshman quarterback Sean Brackett rushed for 171 yards and passed for 151, including a 37-yard scoring strike to Knowlin in the fourth quarter.
