YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, -- Jermaine Cook had a career-high 179 yards rushing and three touchdowns in Youngstown State's 63-24 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
The 63 points scored matched a school record set against Alcorn State on Nov. 25, 1994.
Cook started the scoring on a 45-yard run with 13:22 left in the first quarter. The sophomore then topped that career high on a 52-yard touchdown nine seconds into the second quarter. Cook would add one more long touchdown run, going 23 yards to put Youngstown State ahead 42-17 late in the third quarter.
Everette Benjamin finished with 85 yards on 14 carries for the Blue Devils (1-2) in the first meeting between the teams.
