CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Mike Brown threw two touchdowns and Liberty's defense played well in the Flames' 38-16 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday.
Liberty (4-3, 2-0 Big South Conference), winner of four straight, opened the scoring on a 52-yard pass from Mike Brown to Pat Kelly. Brown then connected with Aldreakis Allen from 6 yards out to give Liberty a 14-0 lead.
The Liberty defense and special teams took over from there. KaJaun Lee intercepted Malcolm Dixon's pass and took it 100 yards for the touchdown in the second quarter. Two possessions later, Scott Hyland intercepted another Dixon pass and returned it for a 22-yard touchdown.
The Flames' defense had four interceptions and three sacks while special teams contributed with an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
