MACOMB, Ill. -- Austin Sumner threw for 208 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score Saturday as South Dakota State defeated Western Illinois 27-7.

Winston Wright ran 68 yards with a recovered fumble for the Coyotes (5-6, 4-4 Missouri Valley), who finished their season with three consecutive wins.

Sumner's touchdown pass went 7 yards to Zach Zenner.

Western Illinois' only score came with 36 seconds remaining in the game when Cody Reardon tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Terriun Crump. The Leathernecks (2-8, 1-6) have one home game to play, against conference leader North Dakota State.
