DAYTON, Ohio -- Will Bardo threw for three touchdowns -- all in the first half -- to help Dayton beat Morehead State 41-27 in a Pioneer Football League showdown Saturday.
Dayton (3-4, 2-2) scored on its opening possession when Bardo found Jordan Elmore through the air for 16 yards. Bardo finished 15 of 23 for 214 yards.
Morehead State's (1-5, 0-3) lead did not last long as Bardo dominated the second quarter. Bardo helped the Flyers take the lead for good, finding Nik Gillum for a 16-yard touchdown, then connecting with Ross Smith, who lateralled to Robert Washington for a 39-yard touchdown and a 23-14 halftime lead.
Dayton scored 24 unanswered points sealing the victory over the Eagles.
The Flyers have beaten Morehead State the last four meetings.
