FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Tye Gunn came off the bench to run for
two touchdowns and throw for two more Saturday to lead TCU to a
34-27 victory over Houston.
Gunn took over for quarterback Brandon Hassell, who left the
game after taking a hard hit on an option keeper in the first
quarter. Gunn rushed for 41 yards on seven carries, scoring on two
1-yard keepers, and completed 16-of-24 for 234 yards.
TCU (4-3, 2-2 Conference USA) led 10-6 at the half before Gunn
scored on a 1-yard TD run and touchdown passes of 62 yards to Cory
Rodgers and 37 yards to Quentily Harmon.
Houston (1-6, 1-3) was led by quarterback Kevin Kolb who
completed 25-of-44 passes for 256 yards and touchdowns of 4, 12 and
5 yards. All of his scoring passes came in the fourth quarter.
Houston's Vincent Marshall caught nine passes for 123 yards.

Hobbs, rushed 30 times for 137 yards for TCU.
Despite the loss of Hobbs, the Horned Frogs rushed for a
season-best 229 yards.

The Horned Frogs had allowed 40 or more points in four of their
first six games this season.
TCU led 24-9 after three quarters and extended it to 34-15 on
Gunn's scoring pass to Harmon with 5:52 left.
Houston, which has lost four straight games, tried to rally late
but ran out of time. Kolb threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Donnie
Avery and he followed with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Marshall. But
there was just two seconds left by the time the Cougars cut the
lead to seven.
