Bowling Green 70, Temple 7

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Omar Jacobs threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns and Corey Partridge returned a punt 79 yards for a score to help Bowling Green rout Temple 70-7 on Saturday.

Jacobs finished 26-for-30, rolling up impressive statistics against a Temple defense that allows over 50 points per game. Steve Sanders had five receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns and Charles Sharon finished with seven catches for 95 yards and a score.

Umar Ferguson was the lone bright spot for the Owls (0-5), rushing for 132 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.

Bowling Green (2-2) took the opening kickoff and put together an 11-play, 80-yard drive culminating in Jacobs' 20-yard TD pass to Sharon. The redshirt junior tossed a 13-yard pass to P.J. Pope with 5:16 left in the first to make it 14-0 Falcons.

Sanders took over in the second, getting into the end zone three times to help Bowling Green grab a 42-7 lead at halftime. He hauled in 20- and 6-yard touchdown passes and carried the ball 21 yards for another score.

Antonio Smith intercepted a Mike McGann pass and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown in the second half.

McGann finished 8-for-16 for just 66 yards with three interceptions. Temple had 263 yards of offense.

Four different Falcons rushed for a touchdown as Bowling Green rolled up 30 first downs and 461 yards of offense.

Jacobs, who played just over a half, has completed over 63 percent of his passes this season for 1,432 yards and 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions. He led the country with 41 TD passes last season and threw only four interceptions.
