RB Wolfe has record day, lifts Northern Illinois in rout

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Garrett Wolfe rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown as Northern Illinois beat Eastern Michigan 27-0 on Friday.

Wolfe set a new Northern Illinois school record with his 22nd career game rushing for at least 100 yards. The nation's leading rusher finished with 164 yards on 27 carries.

The Huskies (7-5, 5-3 Mid-American Conference) led 21-0 at halftime after scoring twice in the final four minutes of the second quarter.

Don Nicholson, making his first start of the season, threw for 261 yards in the game and a pair of TDs (17 and 4 yards) to go along with Wolfe's 2-yard scoring run.

Chris Nendick added field goals of 32 and 30 yards.

Eastern Michigan (1-11, 1-7 MAC) was shut out in a conference game for the first time since 2000. The Eagles moved inside the Huskies' 20-yard line once and squandered its only scoring chance when Andrew Wellock's fourth-quarter 41-yard field goal missed wide left.
