LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Felix Jones rushed for 141 yards and two second-half touchdowns, and Darren McFadden ran for 122 yards as Arkansas pulled away for a sloppy 34-15 win over Chattanooga on Saturday night.

Jones ran for a 59-yard touchdown in the third quarter, providing the biggest highlight on a night when McFadden lost two fumbles. McFadden, last year's Heisman Trophy runner-up, rushed for 122 yards but fell short in his attempt to become the Razorbacks' career leader. Ben Cowins still holds that mark with 3,570 yards rushing, 31 more than McFadden.

Arkansas coach Houston Nutt said after the game McFadden has been bothered by sore ribs. The star tailback walked slowly to the tunnel with just over six minutes remaining and Arkansas (3-2) comfortably ahead. It was a far cry from the previous weekend, when he was on the sideline resting during the second half of a 66-7 win over North Texas.

About 90 minutes before the game, a plane circled War Memorial Stadium towing a banner with the message "THERE'S NUTTIN' LIKE BEING 0-2 IN THE SEC!" The banner was a shot at the embattled Nutt, whose team dropped Southeastern Conference games to Alabama and Kentucky last month.

Midway through the third quarter, the crowd inside the stadium had some reason for concern when Jones was stopped on fourth-and-1 from the Chattanooga 45. Jones made up for that on his next carry, though, scooting down the right sideline for his long touchdown and giving the Hogs a 24-9 lead.

Bryan Fitzgerald answered for the Mocs with a 65-yard touchdown run, faking his way past safety Kevin Woods near midfield. But Chattanooga's 2-point conversion pass was unsuccessful, and Jones made it 31-15 with a 1-yard run in the fourth.

Chattanooga (1-4) is in the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly called Division I-AA.

McFadden has rushed for 100 yards all five games this season and 17 times in his career. That's one school record he did set -- Cowins did it 16 times from 1975-78.

McFadden's pursuit of the other record was dealt a setback in the second quarter when the Razorbacks lined him up at quarterback. The snap went through his hands, and Chattanooga recovered the fumble with McFadden being charged with a 15-yard loss on the play.

That was the second shotgun snap Arkansas messed up. On the Razorbacks' first offensive play -- from their own 20 -- the snap sailed past quarterback Casey Dick, who didn't appear ready for it. Dick chased the ball down and went down in the end zone for a safety.

McFadden put Arkansas ahead 7-2 with a 2-yard touchdown run, but he fumbled the ball away on his next carry deep in Chattanooga territory.

The Razorbacks took a 14-2 lead when Dick found Peyton Hillis for a 24-yard touchdown, but the Mocs scored in the second quarter on Antonio Miller's 4-yard pass to Brent Hayes.

That was one of the few bright spots for Miller, who finished 4-of-22 for 11 yards with an interception. Fitzgerald rushed for 123 yards on the night.

Arkansas led 17-9 at halftime after Alex Tejada's 47-yard field goal in the final minute of the second quarter.
