TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Jeremy Stewart scored on a 1-yard run midway through the fourth quarter as Stanford rallied for a 21-20 victory over Arizona on Saturday night.
It was the second Pac-10 road victory in as many tries for the Cardinal (3-4, 2-3 Pac-10), who upset then-No. 2 Southern California in Los Angeles two weeks ago.
Stanford sophomore quarterback Tavita Pritchard improved to 2-1 as a starter, with both wins coming on the road. Pritchard was 19-of-27 for 181 yards and a touchdown, and he threw two interceptions.
Arizona (2-6, 1-4) lost for the fifth time in six weeks. Coach Mike Stoops fell to 9-21 in Pac-10 play.
The Cardinal thwarted Arizona's final threat when cornerback Nick Sanchez forced receiver Anthony Johnson to fumble, and Will Powers recovered at the Arizona 22 with 2:13 to play.
Wildcat linebacker Spencer Larsen intercepted a pass and forced a fumble, and Nate Ness also had an interception for Arizona, which limited Stanford to 277 total yards.
Arizona quarterback Willie Tuitama went 28-of-41 for 238 yards and a touchdown, and he threw an interception. Jason Bondzio kicked two field goals, including a career-long 49-yarder.
Stanford tailback Jason Evans rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown as a replacement for Anthony Kimble, who has a shoulder injury.
Arizona took a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter on a 21-yard reverse by Mike Thomas, who jogged into the end zone after Stanford's defense.
The Cardinal cut it to 10-7 on a 33-yard pass from Pritchard to Richard Sherman midway through the second quarter.
Late in the first half, Arizona came up short on fourth-and-1 at the Stanford 48. The Cardinal made the Wildcats pay.
They went 52 yards in nine plays, with Evans running for a 2-yard touchdown to give Stanford a 14-10 lead with five seconds left before halftime.
Arizona didn't wait long to answer. The Wildcats took the second-half kickoff and marched 85 yards in 11 plays, with Tuitama hitting redshirt freshman A.J. Simmons for a 3-yard touchdown to put Arizona ahead 17-14.
