YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Geno Blow ran for a 77-yard score and Jason Horton caught a 69-yard TD to spur an Illinois State offense that rolled up 453 yards in a 27-22 win over Youngstown State.
Blow's first quarter run put the Redbirds (4-4, 2-2 MAC) on the board after Youngstown State (5-3, 1-2) grabbed a 10-0 lead. Horton's touchdown at the end of the half made it 20-13 and put Illinois State in front to stay.
Luke Drone completed 19 of 30 for 278 yards for Illinois State. Blow ran for 128 yards on 17 carries and Horton gained 119 yards on five catches.
The Penguins' Kevin Smith rushed for 70 yards on 19 carries and scored on a 1-yard run with 10:10 to play to finish the game's scoring. Youngstown State's Ferlando Williams added 59 yards on eight tries and five receptions for 71 yards.
