JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Cody Hull ran 9 yards for a touchdown with 1:09 left Saturday as Jackson State handed Arkansas-Pine Bluff its sixth straight loss with a 17-6 victory.
Hull's touchdown came after Daniel Brooks sacked Golden Lions quarterback Chris Wallace on a fourth down play with 1:13 left in the game. Wallace was sacked four times by the Tigers.
Wallace was 8 of 16 for only 89 yards. He was replaced by Johnathan Moore, who was intercepted twice and was 3 of 10 for 28 yards for the Golden Lions (1-7, 1-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Tiger quarterback Jimmy Oliver was 17 of 30 for 209 yards.
With the victory, Jackson State (5-3, 5-1) remains tied with Alabama A&M, a winner Saturday over Alabama State, for first place in the conference. The two teams play next week in Huntsville, Ala.
A 1-yard touchdown by Erik Hawe in the second quarter put the Tigers ahead 7-0. John Helfin's 45-yard field goal for Arkansas-Pine Bluff cut the lead to 7-3 at the half.
Eric Perri kicked a 47-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and Jackson State lead 10-3.
The Golden Lions final score came on a 32-yard field goal by Helfin with 9:15 left in the game.
