Youngstown St. 31, W. Illinois 24

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Quarterback Tom Zetts threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns to lead Youngstown State to a 31-24 victory Saturday over Western Illinois.

Zetts was an efficient 23 for 32 passing, and Ferlando Williams had eight catches for 133 yards in an offensive attack that produced 404 total yards.

But Western Illinois only had four fewer yards to make the game close.

Quarterback Matt Barr was 17 of 29 for 276 yards, while Alex Douglas had two rushing touchdowns and Dre Gibbs had one rushing touchdown and 68 yards rushing on the day. Carl Sims had eight catches for 144 yards.

Youngstown State led the entire game, opening up their biggest lead -- a 21-point margin -- with about five minutes to go in the third quarter.
