CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- Ademola Adeniji scored three touchdowns, including one on a 65-yard run, to lead Eastern Illinois past Samford 33-17 on Saturday afternoon.
Samford (4-7, 2-6 OVC) scored early when Mark Prevost kicked a 36-yard field goal to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead with 9:55 left in the first quarter. But Adeniji answered with his 65-yard touchdown, and Tyler Wilke added the extra point to put Eastern Illinois (8-3, 7-1) ahead 7-3 with 9:45 left in the quarter.
The Panthers scored twice in the second quarter, including a 3-yard run by Adeniji, and lead 24-10 going into the half.
Chris Evans rushed 19 times for 106 yards and a touchdown for Samford. He finished the season with 1,033 yards rushing. Adeniji rushed 27 times for 170 yards.
