CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) -- Sherrod Evers tied a school record with 10 receptions, including a 31-yard touchdown catch from Erik Cwalinski, as Robert Morris opened an early lead and cruised to a 27-13 win over visiting Morehead State on Saturday.
Evers caught 10 passes for 159 yards, which ties the school record set by Tyjuan Massey in 2005. Cwalinski completed 16 of 27 passes for 225 yards for the Colonials.
Robert Morris (1-0) opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run by Jesse Kastelic with 4:33 left in the first quarter. The touchdown capped an 8-play, 57-yard drive.
The Colonials increased their lead to 13-0 with field goals of 22 and 35 yards by Garrett Clawson in the second quarter.
Cwalinski's 31-yard touchdown pass to Evers came with 0:29 left in the second quarter, which gave Robert Morris a 20-0 lead at the intermission.
The Colonials scored again with 6:57 left in the third quarter on a one-yard run by Kastelic.
Morehead State (1-1) scored its first points on a 1-yard run by Michael Kearns with 3:16 left in the third quarter. The Eagles also scored on a 51-yard pass from Evan Sawyer to Nick Feldman with 14:12 left in the game.
Robert Morris rolled up 402 yards in total offense, while holding Morehead State to 239.
