NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Javarris Williams rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns to lead Tennessee State to a 41-14 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.
Williams has 117 rushing yards or more in five of his past six games, and has scored at least one touchdown in every game this season for the Tigers (7-2, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference).
He scored on a 4-yard run for a 7-0 lead and added a 5-yard run to increase Tennessee State's lead to 21-7 with 2:57 left in the second quarter.
Tennessee Tech (3-7, 1-5) was hampered by a Tigers defense that notched three sacks and two interceptions.
Tennessee State's Dominic Grooms was 15 of 19 for 138 yards and two touchdown passes, and also scored on a 1-yard run in his first start of the season at quarterback.
He threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Jajuan Spillman and a 6-yarder to Chris Johnson, who had five catches for 60 yards.
