DENTON, Texas -- Wes Carroll threw a pair of touchdown passes to help Florida International defeat North Texas 34-10 Saturday night.
Carroll connected with Greg Ellingson for a 50-yard score just 2:17 into the game. He also found T.Y. Hilton for a 43-yard touchdown in the second quarter as the Golden Panthers (2-4, 2-0 Sun Belt) built a 27-3 halftime lead.
Carroll was 17-of-31 for 288 yards and did not throw an interception. Darriet Perry ran for 98 yards for Florida International.
Lance Dunbar scored the only touchdown for the Mean Green (1-6, 1-3) in the fourth quarter. The 9-yard TD was set up by a 64-yard run by Craig Robertson on a fake punt.
