NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Diontae Spencer scored five touchdowns, including two receiving, one punt and two kickoff returns, to lead McNeese State to a 69-38 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday night.
Spencer caught seven balls for 152 yards and had receiving TDs of 10 and 9 yards. Spencer returned two kickoffs in the first quarter -- the first for 93 yards and the second for 87. He capped his scoring with a 35-yard punt return in the fourth.
Stephen F. Austin led 24-14, but McNeese State (8-2, 4-1 Southland) rattled off 27 unanswered points and led 48-24 with 7:54 remaining in the third quarter. Cody Stroud tossed three second-quarter touchdowns during that run -- of 71, 4 and 10 yards. Cody Stroud finished with 333 yards and four touchdowns for McNeese State.
