Class of 2010 Team Football Recruiting Rankings
Stir It Up
Last Updated: 09/30/2009

It's been surprisingly quiet along the commitment front since late August, with most of the nation's top programs adding a prospect here and there. The only one to make a huge splash is Tennessee. The Vols enter this edition of the class rankings at No. 5, trailing three SEC rivals (Florida, Georgia and Alabama) and perennial recruiting power Texas. Two players -- QB Tyler Bray and DE Corey Miller -- switched commitments to join Tennessee and both are at positions of significant need, especially Bray. Now the key for Tennessee and Lane Kiffin (left) is to hold on and add to this class down the stretch.
Seven SEC teams headline the top 15, but one Pac-10 team is making a dent, and it's not who you think. Very quietly, Stanford is really making a mark on the national scene and enters at No. 14.
Remember, this is a very early look at the rankings, and many of the top players have yet to decide (only 12 of the top 25 have committed). Plus, as we've seen, players can change their minds and switch their commits, which will affect the rankings in the future. Arguments can be made for any of the teams ranked 11-15 to be interchanged, and even teams on the cusp could make a case for inclusion in the top 15. Still, this is where we stand right now, and as more and more players commit, these rankings will continue to expand and change. But as always, let the debate continue over who's No. 1 right now.
