K-State president Kirk Schulz acknowledged the topic of expansion did come up during Friday's Big 12 presidents meeting, but commissioner Bob Bowlsby added that specific potential candidates were not discussed.

Following Friday's Big 12 presidents meeting, Kansas State president Kirk Schulz said "there's a unanimity" among the 10 schools that wasn't always there before in putting the interests of the conference over the interests of the individual schools. Schulz added the Big 12 will look to come to a 10-0 consensus moving forward on any major decisions, including possible expansion or implementation of a conference championship game.

Ball arrested for allegedly pushing girlfriend

USC's Pat Haden resigning

The Trojans athletic director will step down at the end of June. Haden has been in his current position for over 5 years. USC president Max Nikias said Haden will guide the renovation of the Coliseum for a year after he retires.

Pitt RB James Conner is "really doing well," coach Pat Narduzzi said. Conner was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma on Thanksgiving and just had his fifth round of treatment. The former ACC player of the year has kept working out with the team and Narduzzi said it doesn't look as if Conner's lost weight. "He will [beat cancer]. He'll be playing for the Panthers next fall. I can guarantee that."

Former Oregon State QB Seth Collins will transfer to Northern Illinois, Huskies coach Rod Carey announced on Twitter. Collins threw for 936 yards as a true freshman, but was not expected to reclaim his starting job next year. The Beavers had plans to permanently move him to receiver.

Mark Richt is pleased with Miami's 18 commitments and points to his first class at Georgia as proof he's able to identify and sign future NFL players on short notice. His 2001 class at Georgia included Thomas Davis and Odell Thurman, rated as two-star recruits. David Pollack was listed as a three-star athlete. Miami signed the No. 19-ranked class with 10 ESPN 300 recruits.
