An NCAA review showed the student-athletes didn't meet the necessary academic requirements, according to the Baltimore Sun, and at least 10 of the players were on the football team. AD Floyd Kerr said the school is working to get the players reinstated, but there is no timetable for restoration.

Tough loss for Chris Petersen, especially to have a chance there at the end. But he made the rounds seeking out Boise players and coaches afterward. All class.

Fordham gets first win over Army

Back in 1891, the Black Knights beat the Rams for the program's first win. Friday, Fordham finally got a win over West Point. Fordham, a FCS school, also defeated FBS opponent Temple two years ago.

The Huskies followed a 76-yard punt return TD with a punt block to tighten the game at Bronco Stadium. Boise State's lead is down to three in the fourth quarter on ESPN.

Oregon State's bid to replace the graduated Sean Mannion began with a competition of 7 quarterbacks this past spring. Over half a year later, a victor has finally been named. True freshman Seth Collins is the Beavers' starter following an explosive dual threat performance in a 26-7 win over Weber State. He struggled early, but ultimately racked up 152 rushing yards and 2 passing touchdowns -- including a perfect 44-yard deep strike to Jordan Villamin. Oregon State wasn't great Friday, but the multifaceted explosiveness of their new young quarterback should generate optimism.

Captain Shilique Calhoun says Michigan State's effort tonight is "definitely not" good enough to beat Oregon. "This is the first game. This is where you work the kinks out," Calhoun said.

Washington's defense responded with a couple of plays in the second quarter to keep Boise State from running away with the game, but the Huskies have been anything but stingy on defense. Remember, they had three eventual first-rounders on defense last season and still finished 80th nationally in total defense.

Boise State gets tricky

Facing off against its former coach, the Broncos pulled off a WR pass from Thomas Sperbeck to Holden Huff, who made a diving catch for a 23-yard gain. Boise State leads Washington 13-0 on ESPN.

Spartans ride big first quarter to victory
