3 things I'm keeping an eye on for TCU tonight: Is Trevone Boykin even better or has he stagnated? How do the linebackers look? Who is going to fill the leadership and playmaking void on defense with Sam Carter and Paul Dawson no longer around? Those 3 things could be key in the Horned Frogs chase for a title.

Minnesota needs to be careful early on tonight, because TCU's offense had a knack for fast starts last season. The Horned Frogs ranked No. 2 in FBS in first-quarter scoring at an average of 13.3 per game. The Air Raid attack put up at least 7 points in every first quarter last year and 14 or more in eight games.

They've come from all over to see Jim Harbaugh's first game as Michigan's head coach. The Shields family is in town from Arizona.

One newcomer to watch tonight for TCU: KaVontae Turpin. The true freshman from Louisiana will return punts, get snaps at inside receiver and packs a ton of speed (and a 42-inch vertical) into his small 5-foot-9, 152-pound frame. Gary Patterson has frequently praised Turpin during camp and likes that he "never gets tired."
