Lady Vols boast toughest schedule

Tennessee's nonconference and overall schedules topped the WBCA/Summerville preseason strength of schedule ratings.

Among the nonconference schedules, the Lady Vols edged Old Dominion. Penn State ranked third, followed by Duke.

Four SEC schools topped the ratings for overall schedule. Following Tennessee were Florida, Kentucky and Alabama.

Penn State was fifth in overall schedule; Duke ranked ninth.

Two Big East schools were the only other teams to rank among the top 10 in both lists. Connecticut ranked eighth in nonconference ratings and seventh in overall schedule. Rutgers was ninth in nonconference and sixth overall.
