One has already won an NCAA title. One's so athletic she shattered her school's previous all-time record in the javelin throw and is a track and field All-American.
In fact, athleticism and success define this group, whether its leading their league in scoring and rebounding or closing in on helping her senior class become the first in school history to make four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. A look at the nation's top five power forwards (listed alphabetically, with last season's stats):
Shameka Christon, Arkansas, 6-1, senior "Runs floor very well and knows how to use her strong body to her advantage." -- Nancy Lieberman "Smooth, powerful and quick. Add in her range, and she's a constant threat." -- Mechelle Voepel

Hana Peljto, Harvard, 6-2, senior "Big, strong, very deceptive, and smart about how she plays around the basket." -- Nancy Lieberman "You might not have seen her much, if at all, but this Ivy Leaguer is big-time. Has great moves around the basket and plays smart." -- Mechelle Voepel

Heather Schreiber, Texas, 6-2, junior "A lefty who has always been more comfortable on the perimeter but worked hard to toughen her post game. She has a steady game and personality." -- Mechelle Voepel

Barbara Turner, Connecticut, 6-0, sophomore "Another in the long line of very versatile players at UConn." -- Nancy Lieberman "Really strong and a very good jumper; has a nose for rebounds and already has that UConn trait of excelling in big games." -- Mechelle Voepel

Kendra Wecker, Kansas State, 5-11, junior "A physical specimen who can score over you or around you. A great 3-point shooter." -- Nancy Lieberman "Posts up, has a pull-up jumper, hits the 3, rebounds, gets steals and assists; affects every possession." -- Mechelle Voepel
