Conferences around the country have cast their ballots. And from the ACC to the SEC, here's which players earned top honors for their regular-season performances (listed alphabetically; click on league name for story).
For just the second time in league history, two players will share the A-10 Player of the Year honors as Duquesne senior Candace Futrell and George Washington senior Cathy Joens tied in voting by the conference coaches. Temple's Dawn Staley was named Coach of the Year.
Duke dominated the honors, landing an ACC-record five players on the Associated Press all-conference teams and putting two players on the All-Defensive team. Blue Devils senior Alana Beard led all voting for the third consecutive season with 147 votes.
Diana Taurasi became the second player in UConn history to earn back-to-back conference player of the year honors. Georgetown's Rebekkah Brunson, the first player to lead the Big East in scoring and rebounding in the same season, was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year. Taurasi and Brunson, as well as Rutgers' Cappie Pondexter, were unanimous first-team picks.
Penn State's Kelly Mazzante, Purdue's Shereka Wright and Minnesota's Lindsay Whalen were unanimous selections to the all-conference first team, and Mazzante became just the fourth player in Big Ten history to repeat as conference player of the year. League coaches named Purdue's Katie Gearlds top freshman.
K-State's Nicole Ohlde was named player of the year for the second straight time, but Texas stole headlines, landing three players on the 10-member first team. Texas' Jody Conradt also took home coach of the year honors, while Longhorns rookie Tiffany Jackson was named top freshman.
Houston's Chandi Jones, the all-time leading scorer in C-USA history with 2,559 points, became the first player in league history to earn three consecutive player of the year honors.
Two days after becoming Wisconsin-Milwaukee's all-time leading scorer, senior Maria Viall was named the Horizon League Player of the Year.
Stanford's Nicole Powell repeated as player of the year and seven of the league's team put at least one player on the 10-member All-Pac-10 first team. UCLA's Noelle Quinn was selected freshman of the year, while Cal's Caren Horstmeyer was named coach of the year.
SEC player of the year Shameka Christon of Arkansas, along with Auburn's Le'Coe Willingham, LSU's Seimone Augustus and Temeka Johnson, Mississippi State's Tan White and Tennessee's Shyra Ely were unanimous All-SEC first-team members. Ole Miss' Armintie Price was tabbed freshman of the year.
