Phoenix win third straight conference tourney title

MILWAUKEE -- Abby Scharlow scored 24 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 66-54 victory over Detroit in the Horizon League tournament championship game Monday night.

The Phoenix earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament game by winning their third straight conference tournament title, all against Detroit. It will be Green Bay's seventh appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Mary Kulenkmap scored 17 points, Nicole Soulis had 12 and Natalie Berglin for Green Bay (23-7).

Green Bay led 30-24 at halftime and held Detroit to 35.5 percent shooting from the field in the second half.

Nicole Anaejionu had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Katie Solner added nine points for Detroit (15-14).
