DeMuth tore knee ligament in first practice
INDIANAPOLIS -- Leading scorer and rebounder Jenny DeMuth will miss all of the Indiana women's basketball team's season with a torn knee ligament.
DeMuth injured her left knee early Saturday, just minutes after Indiana began its season-opening Midnight Madness practice, the team said Monday.
She was hurt when she tried to set herself on defense but her left leg slipped out from underneath her.
DeMuth, a senior, was the only woman in the Big Ten to finish in the top five in both scoring and rebounding last season, averaging 18.3 points and 7.7 rebounds. She was an all-conference pick last season.
DeMuth would be eligible to redshirt and return to the Hoosiers next season.
