Patriot League's top seed moves on
WORCESTER, Mass. -- Lisa Andrews and Maggie Fontana each had 16 points and top-seeded Holy Cross beat Colgate 79-70 to win the Patriot League tournament and earn an automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
Fontana scored 10 of her points in the final 4 minutes after No. 6 seed Colgate, the defending champion, had come back from a 16-point deficit to tie it at 64.
Emily Braseth had 21 points to lead Colgate (12-18).
Holy Cross (20-10), which won the tournament for the 10th time in 15 years, led 33-25 at halftime after a first half that featured three ties and nine lead changes.
