Bolden violated team rules
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Guard Ashley Bolden was dismissed from the Texas A&M women's basketball team Monday for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
Bolden, a freshman from Houston, averaged 6.8 points in nearly 15 minutes a game. She started in three of 29 games.
"Ashley was one of the first players we looked to from the bench each game, and she was an important part of our success this season," A&M coach Gary Blair said in a statement. "Although I'm not going to elaborate about her departure, the entire coaching staff wishes her nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
The Aggies (16-15) earned a spot in the WNIT this season, their first postseason berth since 1996. They lost to Southwest Missouri State in the quarterfinals.
