Stanford's Newlin sidelined at least week by leg injury
STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford forward Kristen Newlin is expected to miss at least a week for the Cardinal (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today; No. 10 AP) because of an injured left leg.
Newlin, a 6-foot-5 junior averaging 12.3 points and a team-leading 10.3 rebounds, has a stress reaction in her femur and won't play Saturday at home against Rice. She will be re-evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
