No. 2 Duke emphatically defeated No. 1 Tennessee on Monday night and as a result, the Blue Devils took over the top spot in the latest ESPN/USA Today coaches' women's college basketball poll.

Duke defeated Tennessee 75-53 to improve to 19-0 on the season. The Lady Vols (18-1) fell two spots after the loss to No. 3 in the latest poll.

North Carolina, which is 18-0, moved up one spot to No. 2. Connecticut, which defeated LSU last week, advanced one spot to No. 4, while the Lady Tigers fell one spot to No. 5.

Duke and North Carolina play Sunday night on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET. They are the only undefeated teams in the nation after the Tennessee women, Duke men, Florida men and Pittsburgh men all suffered their first loss of the season over the past few days.

Maryland, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers and Baylor round out the top 10.
