Auriemma back at work after release from hospital
STORRS, Conn. -- Connecticut women's coach Geno Auriemma was back at work Monday one day after being released from the hospital.
Auriemma, 52, was admitted to Saint Francis Medical Center in Hartford on Thursday for a minor intestinal problem and was discharged Sunday, team officials said.
In his 21 seasons at UConn, Auriemma has guided the Huskies to five national titles, an unprecedented five straight Final Four appearances and a Division I winning streak of 70 games from 2001-2003.
He was elected this month into the Basketball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. He also will be inducted into the women's Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn., later this month.
The Huskies finished this season 32-5, losing in the NCAA regional finals to Duke.
