USC gets first-ever sellout for matchup with UCLA
LOS ANGELES -- Southern California's women's basketball team has sold out a home game for the first time in the program's history.
All tickets have been sold for Saturday's game against crosstown rival UCLA (13-12, 7-6 Pac-10) at the new Galen Center, with about 10,000 fans expected.
That would break the women's Pac-10 attendance record of 9,738 set on March 8, 1996, when Oregon hosted Oregon State.
Last season, USC's home game against UCLA at the Los Angeles Sports Arena attracted 8,667 -- the highest single-game attendance in program history.
The previous six games between USC (14-9, 8-5) and UCLA have been decided by no more than four points, with USC winning four of those. Both schools were among six Pac-10 teams to reach last year's NCAA tournament.
