Guard will miss rest of season with torn tendon
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Guard Brandie Hoskins will miss the rest of the season for Ohio State (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today; No. 4 AP) because of a torn left Achilles tendon.
Hoskins was hurt late in the first half of Thursday night's 70-67 victory over Minnesota. She is one of two senior starters on the Buckeyes (22-1) and the team's second-leading scorer with 14.3 points per game.
Hoskins tore her right Achilles tendon last March during the NCAA Tournament. After undergoing surgery and extensive rehab, she was ready when the season began in November. She is tentatively scheduled to have surgery Monday.
