Durkin steps down as Duquesne's coach
PITTSBURGH -- Duquesne women's basketball coach Dan Durkin resigned Wednesday following a 7-20 season that included a 2-12 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Durkin had a 176-217 record in 14 seasons since being hired in 1993. His teams were 30-55 the last three seasons, with the Dukes' last winning record (16-13) coming in 2004.
Athletic director Greg Amodio said the search for a successor will begin immediately.
This is the second basketball coaching change at the Pittsburgh school in two seasons. Last year, men's coach Danny Nee stepped down after a 3-24 season and was replaced by Ron Everhart.
