Bass leaves Longwood after one year for Colgate
FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood women's basketball coach Pamela Bass resigned Friday to accept a job at Colgate, both schools said.
Bass replaces Kristin Hughes, who resigned as Colgate's coach at the end of the season.
Bass led the Lancers to an 8-21 record during her one year as coach. Before coming to Longwood, Bass served as an assistant coach at Brown, Yale, Illinois at Chicago and Providence College.
Bass, a native of Milwaukee, earned her bachelor's degree from Brown, where she played three seasons and served as a student assistant coach for one season. She earned her master's from Texas.
Longwood immediately will begin a national search to find Bass' replacement, interim athletic director Troy Austin said.
