Ex-WNBA player Blodgett named Maine head coach
ORONO, Maine -- Former Maine star Cindy Blodgett returned to the school Wednesday, taking over the women's basketball program.
Blodgett, a 1998 Maine graduate who twice led the nation in scoring, spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Brown University.
Blodgett, who played in the WNBA from 1998-2002, is a native of Clinton, and led Lawrence High School to four straight Class A State Championships.
Blodgett was one of four finalists for the Maine position, which was left open following Ann McInerny's resignation last month.
