Summitt first female coach to win Legends of Coaching award

LOS ANGELES -- Tennessee coach Pat Summitt will receive the
John R. Wooden Award's Legends of Coaching award in April, becoming
the first women's basketball coach to be honored.

Summitt is college basketball's all-time winningest coach. She's
won 947 games and seven NCAA titles, including this year. Her
titles trail only Wooden's 11 in national championships won.

She will receive the award on April 12 at the Los Angeles
Athletic Club when the men's and women's Wooden Award winners as
national players of the year are announced.

Previous Legends of Coaching honorees include Dean Smith, Mike
Krzyzewski, Lute Olson, Jim Calhoun, Jim Boeheim and Gene Keady.
