Wayne State routs Temple Baptist by 119 points
DETROIT -- Jasmine McCall scored 23 points in Wayne State's 132-13 rout of Temple Baptist on Saturday.
The 119-point margin of victory was three points shy of the NCAA Division II record. West Texas A&M defeated National Christian 155-33 on Nov. 29, 2001.
The Warriors made 58 field goals, four shy of the NCAA mark of 62 set by Norfolk State on Nov. 20, 1990, against Fayetteville State.
The Runnin' Rams dressed only five players for the game and committed 54 turnovers, which resulted in 92 points for Wayne.
Forward Ansley Davenport's 3-pointer finally got Temple Baptist on the scoreboard with 10:28 left in the first half, halting a 38-0 game-opening Warriors rally. Wayne then scored 33 unanswered points, a scoring surge that ended just before the half when guard Bea Mason hit two free throws and a 3-pointer.
Wayne State led 76-8 at halftime.
