Syracuse gives Hillsman five-year extension
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse women's basketball coach Quentin Hillsman will be around for a while.
Hillsman, who in his second year led the Orange to their most successful season in 37 years, was given a five-year contract extension on Tuesday.
Syracuse finished the 2007-08 season with a school-record 22 wins, winning a record 12 in a row at one point, and achieved the program's first appearance in the top 25, peaking at No. 21.
The Orange also made their fourth appearance in the NCAA tournament, losing in the first round to Hartford.
